  • Betdaq throttle rate

    Hi All,

Over the last couple of days I've had a lot of PunterIsBlacklisted messages from the Betdaq api even though I've been polling prices at the same rate for months.

Has anyone else noticed a change in the throttle rates at Betdaq recently? Has anyone successfully negotiated an increase in the rate to be comparable to the full-access api for Betfair?

    Thanks

Not that I know. Best thing to do is ask Betdaq.

    What's new in version 1.2

This week i also noticed that i'm getting blacklisted although i haven't changed any settings. At 1st i thought that the new Beta7 has something to with it, but maybe Betdaq is throttling me again.

There have been messages that Betdaq can increse the calls made by you, but you have to be a good trader - market maker. Basically if you provide a lot of liquidity all the time, then they can change API limitations for you.

btw, Betdaq can totally limit your api access. So don't overuse it.

Over the past few days we have noticed that you have continually made a significant number of calls via your Trading Tool while only placing nominal bets with minimal stake amounts. Whilst BETDAQ doesn’t impose data charges, we do respectively ask that customers using API and trading tool services contribute to the exchange relative to their usage.

Yesterday you made 238k calls to GetPrices and only 3 calls to PlaceOrders for minimal amounts.

We have removed your API access until your betting volumes increase.

      Kind Regards,

I received a similar message this morning (helpdesk were very responsive).

Turns out that I was in the top 5 callers of GetPrices each day but wasn't getting matched trades at sufficient volume so they reduced the maximum calls to my account.

I prefer this approach of looking at the users overall contribution to the exchange, rather than just charging for data use. It would have been nice to have been notified of the change though.
