    Hi everyone

I was wondering how people seem to trade the football markets. i prefer to play the 2.5 and 1.5 goal markets but i was wondering if people chase the market reaction of a goal or if most people scalp the markets?

I see people trade alot on scalping but i feel that you can leave yourself exposed just wanted to know other peoples ideas. I am sort of new to trading diping in and out for a year or so not consitent enough as not being able to bounce ideas from someone was annoying.

keep up the good work on the forum!

I gave up because you'd spend ages making £X and in one go could lose it due to a goal. That's not to say it's not possible; I just couldn't do it. And before someone says I give up too easily, I spent about 5-8 hours trading every day for a month, making a note of every trade.

The silver lining was that I noticed other things when I compared other markets...

I personally prefer going for the goal and laying low especially with the 1.5 goals market. If a goal is scored early enough after your entry point the price can jump by sum level were as scalpin i have been stung so i am a bit weary of that!

Yeah, sure. Trying to remember - doesn't it only get cheap to lay towards the end of the game? How have you found it overall? Profitable? Or breakeven?

i have been breaking even. just seems to sting me or entering the market and a goal goes in before my entry point its a hard game this trading but i am keen to do well. Also how does people feel about scalping at low oods so if it does go against you, you dont lose so much of your bank?

I have 'a' view but I'm by no means an expert - whilst I trade CS in-play and run the risk of getting caught out with a goal being scored, having a 'hedge' at the outset can significantly de-risk things. For example, in tonights Leeds v Arsenal I thought that there were likely to be goals (1-2 at halftime so I was right!) so put a bet on the 1-3 scoreline at the outset. I was hoping that the first goal wouldn't be as quick as it was (which meant I lost out a bit on the hope that 0-0 would start to come in) but having that hedge meant that I was still in an OK position and I've managed to trade others so as to green-up now its halftime. I'm sure I'm not the only one to do this -and as I'm a newbie hope the more experienced ones aren't rolling their eyes to heaven at how obvious this is! - but it's worth incorporating it into your thinking if trading CS in-play and probably for other markets too.
