For those who like a lay bet the fav in Race 4 Rangirangdoo has history against him.
Lady Lynette, Avenue, Lucky Secret and Carrara should prove good each way bets. Roughie at odds..Bank Robber.
    Mixed results here...
Whobegotya was $3.50 when I wrote above.....firmed into around $2.9...then went out again...
Rangirandoo created history by running a race record.
Lady Lynette ($7) and Avenue ($1.65) both won whilst Bank Robber grabbed third at nice odds (20/1)

Wonder what the attraction is at Cairns these days for traders..?? DJB and Temujin are both making their way northwards....maybe they have fast internet speeds up there??

Just my 2c about AU markets..

There seems plenty of liquidity on the favourite on most races, in the last 2 minutes prior to the jump. With my current trading volume only a couple of hundred max, I have no problem trading in and out of the favourite and second favourite at times, even on random provincial races. Certainly this time of year helps, where racing is on everyone's mind. Obviously if you're looking to tick $1000's, you'd have to wait for your moment, but it's probably possible, especially on those odds-on favourites.

The weekend there's plenty of money around, and if you trade the metropolitan races, they tend to go every 10 minutes, similar to the UK, and there's usually a couple of smaller ones in between.

Thanks Talisman for your input and welcome to this thread.
Personally I tend to steer away from the favs because I suspect there have been plenty of times when false money has been used to salt the mine so to speak. This gives a false reading of the true direction of weight of money and its easy to be fooled into making a decision based on what your see on your screen.
Obviously though trading the fav works well for you and you have developed a system that you find comfortable and profitable so well done.
Your comments about timing of Australian racing is quite correct and this does suit a trader like me who likes plenty of action.
        Good luck with your trades.

Pretty sure the attraction to Cairns for traders has nothing to do with the internet speed. This place is crazy for a perv. Never seen anything like it, let alone everywhere you look...

Its all those Scandanavian back packers who like to travel light...so light in fact that they sunbake in local parks topless.....maybe you could take a pic and submit it as Honey of the Day.??
I do feel for you though. Its hard enough trading as it is without major distractions like that!!!

Big race here to finish off the carnival is the Emirates Stakes.
My opinion is lay the fav So You Think currently at $3.25 and trade it out for a green at $3.65 or better. Dont think it is value as its against older horses today and Flemington is not conducive to front runners.

So You Think drifted from $3.25 and I greened out at $4 so that was a good result. It did look the winner 150m out but as predicted front runners find it tough at Flemington and it was run down by an outsider in All American.

Hard day at Sandown today. I like Kidnapped in Race 6. Big horse with a big heart and he'll come home hard in this. I thought Zipping was a risk today despite the dogs barking it as home and hosed. Its currently $4.80 on BF and I expect it will go out to around $6. Lay the current price if you can and green out around $5.60.
One horse that will give you a good run for your money is Jungle Ruler. Currently around the $10 mark so back it each way.
                            Good luck.
