Installation problem in Windows 8

AGT wont install on my newly upgraded windows 8 computer.
I get the message
This setup requires the NET Framework v2.0. Please install NET Framework and run this set-up again

i go to the Net Framework site and download and install iv 4.5.
At the end of the installation i get this message.

Microsoft NET Framework is part of the operating system. You do not need to installl the NET Framework 4.5 re-distributable.

Can anyone help?

You need to install .net 3.5 on windows. 8 I believe.

I have tried to install NET Framework 3.5.... (3 times)
the install finishes and i am asked to restart,then i get the message
"failure to configure windows features. Reverting changes. Do not turn your computer off."
So i am back to square 1

If there is nothing else to try, how do i get a refund?

If you still have your receipt, you could try taking your computer back to the store where you bought it.

I meant a refund from Geek lol. Subscribed for 3 months a week ago.

Well, you are looking for the wrong refund as there is nothing wrong with The Toy. Microsoft make it obvious that Windows 8 is able to run Net Framework without difficulty regardless of the version used.

I suspect that you have not followed the Microsoft instructions to the letter.

I have tried installing it again., without success.
I am not saying there is anything wrong with the toy, but as i can not even install it i think i am not being unreasonable in asking for a refund.

Your problem lies with your inability to make the 3.5 version work on your machine. The Toy is an irrelevance as any program requiring 3.5 will similarly fail to work. I'm pretty sure Geek will consider your request sympathetically but, if you get a refund, you'll end up using an inferior software if you decide to trade. So, up to you.

It is almost certain that you are doing something wrong or just omitting a step. Get somebody else to do it for you. Just repeating your own efforts will get you nowhere. A fresh mind is needed.

I have re-installed windows 8 and the net framework 3.5 enabling process worked first time, so i have been able to install the Toy.
I conclude that my original windows installation had some issues and your assumption that i was "doing something wrong", (when the steps required were very simple), was itself wrong.

Yes, I'm always wrong. You should try being wrong yourself some time, it's good for the soul. Now, when are you going to start legal proceedings against your computer manufacturer for their impudence/negligence in providing you with faulty software ? You could use any compensation as payment for lessons in upgrading your computer in the future.
