I know a number of you have been experiencing issues with connections blocking / data return delays.

For those who are getting delays etc, Betfair are currently in discussion with Cable & Wireless. Betfair say the problem is external to them and will give me an update as & when they have any information.

The issue was raised with our network provider (C&W) who confirmed that there were issues on xcr1.fra which were resolved yesterday morning.

However, please let us know if users continue to report problems.

Yup, when I pinged them around 1 pm today everything was ok...

Lucky's problem lives in 80.81.192.33 for days now.

80.81.192.33 --> ISP: DE-CIX Management GmbH, Country: Germany, Hessen, Frankfurt.

I have a feeling Lucky, that your ISP pushes you there.

Ok lets Betfair (In that case C&W, not Betfair exactly) fix his connection - when he doesn't have a problem I don't have a problem too Betfair crashed in monday twice - they ran some back-up servers which caused NO LAG AT ALL for both of us. In SBR forums:

I used to work with servers / networking / linkages, had to resolve these sorts of issues many times for foreign customers.

From what the ping/trace paths indicate, it is because at the end of all of your connections, your ISPs are connecting to the UK via C&W in France ...

Which I believe is the case.

as long as I am reading correct Pingplotter's manual.

In conclusion...

Imho, 80.81.192.33 --> ISP: DE-CIX Management GmbH is da problem.

Organize your aces' and two's, make a case.
Forward your folder to your ISP n Betfair.
Keep nudging them.
Check a different ISP to see the difference.

now its a real problem to make just a simple bet.betfair said they working on it but its getting worse than before.no information from bf how many weeks more they need.the customer service is by far really desperate.

To everyone who had high ping these days. My internet provider reached C&W trough their own chanels and they (C&W) said that the problems are fixed now. I have proof of this. We are now on another servers and until these servers are in our path to England we wont have problem. The API is smooth as silk now, no problems anymore!
