  • Can't customise keyboard shortcuts

    Hi,

I recently purchased the full GT licence and am enjoying the app.

However I can't set my own keyboard shortcuts as when I open the short cut manager it only shows a truncated version that doesn't show the option for customisation. (See the attached pic) It can't be expanded by pulling down the corner as it just snaps back.

I'm on windows 10 and the betdaq version of GT is exactly the same.

Does anyone have a fix or any way I can input my own shortcuts as I really need this feature?Click image for larger version

You can only see whats in there. Lot of us wish for more options (for me its tick offset on/off). That way the value of Toy would increase.

Thanks for replying but it's not a case of GT not being designed to provide a feature that I'd like. It is designed to allow users to set their own keys as short cuts but I can't use this feature at all because, as the picture shows, my shortcut key manager can't be opened fully for some reason.

How your shortcut manager can't be opened fully? I see nothing wrong in that picture. Are you sure you know how to use shortcut manager? There is no need to expand that window, that's all the options for key shortcuts, you don't have others.

Have you configured any hot keys?If you haven't it's a good idea to get set up in an effective manner. Having hotkeys enabled (and used) inside the Geeks Toy...

Also make sure you keyboard shortcuts are activated. Right click on the ladder -> visual options -> keyboard shortcuts ( need to be green to be activated)

Thanks for replying but I'm afraid you're incorrect.

The first pic is what it should look like. It has the box to designate a specific letter to your selected short cut.
The second pic is what I have. The box isn't visible at all and the restore defaults button is almost completely cut off. I cannot expand it so therefore cannot alter the shortcut designations at all as I should easily be able to do.

If anyone has any solution to this please post it up here.

Why do you need that box? Ok you are right, you can't see all the page, maybe it's your screen resolution or something else, but you don't need to see that box to change a key. Just press a key for the shortcut you want to change and it will show that key changed in the list. As long as you can press restore to default button, you are fine.

That box was good so when you type same key for two shortcuts it will give you a message, but you can pay attention and if you key it's not changed, probably you already have that key set it for another shortcut

Also, make sure you have a newer GT version. I use 1.4o. And don't forget to save your profile after you made your changes.

I use windows 7, try to open GT in compatibilty mode and choose W7 if you have that option, maybe it will show full window. Good luck.

A big thanks Bog. It looks like a compatibility issue but your simple suggestion of typing in the desired keys, as if I could see the box, worked a treat.
I'm finally able to set it up as I want so I can now go on to make a fortune in the markets unencumbered. I'll dedicate 10% of my first 100k to charity in your name.
Thanks again for taking the time to help and good luck with your trading.

No problem. Also sometimes if you change your Windows font size, it can affect certain programs. But glad that fix worked for you.

Good luck reaching your first 100k
