  • Grid/Ladder problems

I am a new user and messing about in the training mode.

I can open various markets from the market navigator (say all of the races at a particular meeting) and place bets using the ladder or the multi bet tool.

If I go back to a market that I have previously opened but closed then either:
    a) neither the grid nor the ladder will open; or
    b) only the grid will open.

This is even though I have a default to open both. Even if I click on "open ladder", nothing happens.

Has anyone had similar problems? Maybe I am just missing something obvious.

    Thanks

    Dan

Have you tried setting it as part of your profile?

      Thanks for the reply.

I'm not sure how to do this? I have saved my profile (which has a default of opening both ladder & grid) but I still have the same problem, if I close a market then when I try to reopen it I cannot get the ladder. If I reload my saved profile the problem remains. This only seems to happen if I have used the multi bet tool on two or more markets.

I will keep experimenting to see if I can figure it out.

As a further update on this, I have rebooted my laptop and it is now connected to an external monitor.

Bizarrely, I now have the opposite problem, the ladder will open when I reopen a closed market but not the grid. I can see the "Show Grid" option in the main menu bar but nothing happens if I select it.

Since you mention the screens make a difference - it's not off the edge is it? You can choose the ladder/grid default open by right clicking on the market navigator. If I've understood your problem right.

Yes, you've understood my problem I think - even if I change the ladder/grid default the problem persists. I think you are right, it is an issue with my display, just strange that I can see both ladder and grid to begin with but not when I reopen.

I will play around with it a bit more, appreciate your input.

Make sure from time to time to make some bets with real money also, betfair could limit your account and you will see delays in the refreshing of the odds if you are only active in training mode.

About your issue, I don't have it. Can you give more details, what Windows version you have, screen resolution, what version of GeeksToy do you use? 1.40 is the latest.

Thanks Bog, I do use Betfair for matched betting and similar so should be ok.

Windows version is 10 pro, screen res is 1600 x 900, Geeks Toy is 1.40

Good, you have the latest version 1.4o - letter "o" (not 1.40 - I typed wrong my bad ). I also have 1600x900 screen res, only difference is that I use windows 7 64 bits. Have you tried to reinstall GT? If you do that you should also delete the AGeeksToy folder from C:\Users\All Users for an clean install. It will delete your saved profiles if you do that, but you can first save the profiles from main menu on GT - "open settings folder". After reinstall you should test first if you have same error, before copy back your profiles.
