No Live Video

Hi Geek

I've been using the toy since 2012 and I used to be able to access live video in older versions.

However for some months now I have not been able to access live video through the toy - only able to access live video by going to betfairs old site and logging in there.

Can you help me find a work around to be able to access live video through the toy again?

This is not specific to the latest version as problem has been present for many months now.

You need a minimum Internet Explorer 9 installed on your PC to view live video.

When i click on "on now" in live video window i can't find the first race in Huntington.
There are only 6 races with no time when they will start.

There are no races in Sedgefield too.

In the latest versions i couldn't load the live video but on this new one i don't even have the live video icon.

Hi The other Geek,

As I am still running xp pro apparently the highest version of internet explorer that I can use with xp seems to be IE8 -

I take it that this means that anyone who is running xp will no longer be able to access video through the toy?

I normally use firefox and access the video from betfairs old site link - but as I've read on one of the previous threads this will no longer be possible from early next year.

Is there not any other work around that you can do for all other xp users - myself included - that you can make the video available with IE 8 or some other link via firefox, chrome etc?

Hope that you can provide some light (or video) for the many xp users out here.

I have Windows7 and IE11 and Live Video is not working for me.

Hi Guys,

I was not able to watch live video as stated above using Internet Explorer - however I found over time that IE was getting very slow as time passed.

I decided to try firefox after reading that this was faster and I found out that it certainly was faster.

I made this browser my default browser instead of I E - The toy will still open in IE.

A bonus I discovered was that if I clicked on Betfairs home page - then clicked on "exchange" - then clicked on "old site" - then clicked on "live video" - then logged in on this page - I am able to use the live video.

You can keep live video open in a separate and minimised window and choose from the menus as normal.

I hope this is OK to post this info on here Mr Geek - and was also hoping that some method of doing this could be incorporated within the toy.

I also think that this would be a bonus when trying to sell the toy to xp users who may find that live video does not work for them when trying the free trial.

I have not shown the video too. But, the window can be opened from the geekstoy through Show\hide-Betfair live video, but in opened window only a message -Use "On Now" menu to start a video-
And what to do next to watch? (Of course, a minimal stake is matched)

No Luck - still no live video --- only message stating ----------------Video data loading, please wait...

So frustrating having to watch this in separate Firefox window!!!!

Live video requires IE9 to be on your PC to work. { Betfair requirement not ours }

If your OS doesn't support IE 9+ you will need to continue to use Firefox as now or upgrade to Windows 7 / 8.

He has a completely different issue that relates to incorrect markets being shown in "On Now"
