How to change colour of columns?

Of the 'back' and 'lay'?

i wish them to be slightly darker.

Right click Main header
select 'Colour Schemes' -> 'Edit Colours'

I think it's the 'Back Shadow' and 'Lay Shadow' options for the changes you want.

Too complicated for my liking. I would just use some dark transparent sticky tape and apply to screen.
