  • the feeling of a green screen

is there a better one? it reminds of the feeling of the "pump" you get when you go the gym, or the sensation of ejaculating in to a woman.

and that's the sort of feeling you should fight like the plague.
If a green screen gives you a high like that you'll never be ready for the red, which in turn means (as red screen are unavoidable, period) you will be doomed to failure.
    as simple as that

today i went 21 races green out of 21 races traded.

I usually have atleast 5 red screens a day, but today was a clean sweep, now thats satisfying.

Pesce is completely right here! If you are feeling so elated with making a profit, your losses are going to hurt you so much that you will find it hard to accept them and end up doing silly things and blowing your bank!

You really have to detach yourself emotionally and treat winning and losing in as similar way as possible.

                  1) I prefer a green screen and am pleased. It's satisfying. A red is just irritating but I know I'll get it back.
                  2) I hate the pumped feeling especially as I move like an old man.
                  3) If a green screen is as good as sex for you, then I suggest you are doing the sex thing wrong.

Yeah, I remember that feeling, it's great isn't it? Enjoy it while you can because I guarantee you, if the highs are that high, the lows are going to be pitifully bad.

Sad but true, as others have said, you need to be less affected by your greens. I don't know anyone who has been successfully trading for a long time, who gets excited about wins and there is a good reason for that.

When I'm trading I don't even think about the amounts I'm making/loosing, that's when I do well. I just focus on analysing the markets and reacting well. If I focus too much on how much I'm loosing or winning, I start making mistakes.

I'd agree, I've always said you should get the kicks spending the winnings not making them but like everything in trading you have to find that happy medium that suits you.

It's only natural you're going to get excited once you've 'cracked it' and start seeing greens on a regular basis, after however long of trying . But after a while those green screens become pretty much the same. To maintain some longevity in trading you need to cut out unnecessary stresses which are pretty much understated in trading. Trading the nags can be pretty stressful even when you're winning if you allow it, as soon as you've got some working strategy try and treat it like a job and stick to whatever working hours you choose. It's easy to get get burntout if you allow trading to take over your life and you can easily ruin all that groundwork you've put in.

If you're normally successful then frankly you expect green screens so they shouldn't product much emotion at all. Its the reds that produce the emotion. Wait till you've been doing this a while and you'll soon be as unexcited at the green screens as you are after a few months after getting your first pay check that might have excited you the first time or banging the same woman again and again for a few months

You're only getting what you've EARNED anyway so what's the fuss?

I don't think it's necessary to resist the 'feel good' feeling when you've made some cash, it's much more important to maintain you're emotions when you lose, especially if you're trading short term time frames.

Coincidentally, as i write this, most people on my floor have lost money this morning, and you wouldn't believe the level of emotion in here, it's like a ****ing bull ring
