  • Trading on the Dogs (and having a WTF moment)

    Afternoon everyone,

I've been playing with the footy and horse markets recently and actually manage to green up most of the time. Now I'm not making much cash but it is green, so at this point I'm pretty happy!

However, the dogs are completely different story. The markets are almost dead up until 4 minutes before the race, then all hell breaks loose. Cash appearing on the ladder with no obvious pattern, massive fast swings and losses that quickly spiral out of control. Which is usually what I end up with. Even the In Play horse markets aren't this cruel to me!

Anyone got any tips or should I just move on?

Me neither can't do anything with greyhounds, think we should just stay away from them

I'm the opposite, I can scrape some pennies out of the greyhound markets easily but UK horses I stear well clear off.

Problem with greyhounds that I see is that the liquidity isn't high enough to up the stakes to interesting levels. It helped me a lot learning the basics of trading though.
If it wasn't for physics and law enforcement I'd be unstoppable!

I'm with T. I trade the dogs everyday precisely because I can make the profit I can't with either horses of football. Mostly favourites shorten and outsiders drift (although there is a lot of volatility), I find that the same can't be said of horses,

        cheers, MC

Cheers for the feedback. Liquidity does seem to have a lot to do with it, I guess I need to try harder. Which is what my school reports always said too
