    Hi Chuck,

It's been a while since I have bothered myself to trade the US horses seriously. When I do I get bored/frustrated really fast due to the lack of action. But I can still tell you what I know.

9 to 11 uk time is the best time in the Summer, after the evening racing card. But right now, now that the season at Hawthore is over, there are only 3 or 4 tracks left with any significant amount of liquidity, Aquaduct, Tampa Bay Downs, Turf Paradise and maybe a Californian track. So the best time to trade for the next few months would be 5:30-10:00. But even for those tracks the liquidity is still not great, rarely over 50k £, and most of it comes from 1k stacks eating each other out.

I will be watching what others have to say about this, maybe it will convince me to give the US horses an other go. But right now, I feel like I'm wasting my time. I prefer to take some time away from trading or trade the Aussie horses.

yeah, i never really bothered with the us races before and at the moment its rather bleak. generally im just doing a quid or 2 here and there... a few nights back i dont know if there was a big event or something but it was alot better than last night and tonight... i'd agree not really worth it although it interests me as a quid here and there is better than nothing, can do the dogs inbetween too. Maybe its something more for the summer months. Cheers for the info will be interesting to hear others take on it.

        Beware of prices

Just a cautionary note, I started off thing that if a horse was 4/1 on betfair but only 2/1 in thje pools that he had to come in in price, absolutely not and cost me a lot of cash a few times!

Although its still horses its a new market so the £2 stakes seem right.Learn the timeframes and the market mechanism. It,s a hard time of year for traders with limited time.Any small profits from normal markets should(could) be used to explore other markets.Tread carefully. When i played about with these markets a while back i found the race times didnt always match up.Now it seems there are more live pictures, dont take any chances.
Best of luck as always chuck

Almost all the tracks are on Betfair Video now, so you don't need At the races to watch them. And I don't think that the liquidity is better in the Summer. It might be even worse. Right now, from Friday to sunday, when Turf P, Aqua and Tampa are running at the same time, it's as good as US nags can get.

Just be very careful when trading the US horses. The races sometimes suspend early and there is no chance of any rescue coz there is no in play.

always use the timers on classic.ebetusa.com and (or) www.allhorseracing.com , and when they timers is off, stop trading, what is sure that is sure.
the races start time dosn't mean anything for the US races, it can be very late or even 20-30min before, no rules.

I used to play the US stuff but gave it up ages ago , so little cash around just wasn't worth the effort. They behave differently to the UK stuff cos there's so little cash around. The tote pools have so little cash in them they vary hell of alot come post time which people have pointed out is very hit and miss.

I used to use the same site as zasve13 for my bots https://classic.ebetusa.com/racing_menus/next-race.html and it was never far off the mark. Just use it to see what races are due off soon , avoid going in too early as there are alot of clued up US racing punters on betfair who'll snap up any pricing errors.

I couldn't get a grip on the markets so stick to what I know but worth looking into as I think Andy plays them and makes a few quid so you never know might be worth your while if you can get a handle on them. I still play the breeders cup type meets as they're always worth playing and very liquid but the bog standard stuff isn't worth my time.

Same here, There just isn't the money in the markets on the bread and butter races. Not worth the effort for me.

Same here, US racing and Greyhounds seem impossible to make cash on. I have tried may strategies based round first and second fav's in both and invariably lost small amounts while using small stakes .

Have toyed with USA races, been very hard hit indeed by economic downturn, attendances & betting turnover down 40%.

ok if 2 similar priced favs, as they load gate, get movement, that
                          can be traded ok.

                          There's better things to trade....
