  • £200K 2012 Blog

Hi Geek people. I've started my 2012 blog early so that I can hit the ground running come January 1st. I'll be trading IR horses and some football and I'm aiming to get £200K by the end of the year.

    http://200kin1yearbetfairtrading.blogspot.com/

I'm looking forward to getting lots of feedback and I'm sure that some of it will help me along the way. It should be a good read and also helpful for anyone out there with similar aspirations.

Wish me luck! I'd like to wish you all a very Happy Xmas and a profitable New Year.

    Cheers - Dave.

You write well and I wish you every success.

Dave if you want somewhere nice on the coast give Cleethorpes a look. It's a nice place and houses are cheap as f**k. Amazing fish 'n' chips and beer is £2a pint.

Good luck with the challenge you may need it!

            Interesting blog so far.

I am sure I typed this earlier today but it just vanished from the site.

I wish you all the best. 200k on a house in 2012/13, might not buy much.

              P.S.
              Have bookmarked your Blog.

from 2.000 to 200.000 is a big objective but you sound confident, like if you had what we call in italian: "asso nella manica" (an ace in the sleeve).
                good luck!

                    Thanks

                    Thanks for the feedback guys.

Doubleback - yep £200K doesn't get you much these days, especially in prime locations. I had a few short breaks in Ramsgate this year and I really like it down there. OK, it's not paradise, but the people are friendly, there are plenty of boozers and you can get quite a bit for £200K. I'll stick your link up on my blog .. cheers.

Drifter - as with anything in life you always need a bit of luck here and there. I'm going to give it 100% and if things go to plan I'll be spending next Xmas by the sea!

WhyAlwaysMe - thank you for your kind words. I did make a brief visit to Cleethorpes many years ago but I didn't really have a chance to take a look around. If beer is only £2 a pint I'll have trouble getting my missus out of the boozer!

Knight Rider .... I'm praying that £200K will still be worth £200K by the end of 2012 otherwise I might have to settle for a caravan.

PC0845 ... I've highlighted my staking plan on my blog. I've been trading IR for 3+ years now and I've only ever needed £1100 in my account to be able to trade effectively. I envisage that from May onwards I'll be playing with a maximum of £5500 in my account.

Belamy .... yeah I don't think that it will be easy but it is definitely achievable. I've worked alongside guys that have made this and a lot more so I know that it can be done (and your quote seems to indicate that you've achieved this sort of figure yourself maybe?). It's going to take a lot of hard work and dedication for sure, but I'm really fired-up right now and I've noticed good changes in my approach to trading over the last few weeks.

There's a couple of AW meeting tomorrow so I'll probably spend an hour or so taking a look through the cards and I should start on compiling my AW runner notes.

Thanks again for the feedback guys .... and be lucky!

                    Cheers - Dave.

flok ... yep it's a relatively big target. Depending on how you play £2,000 is more than enought to make a steady profit of at least £5,000 per month (you're looking at approximately £200 per day). I think that it is a big misconception that you need a bank of at least £10K to make any serious money (again depending on how you play). PS I'll have to remember never to play poker against an Italian!

PrymeTyme - thanks for your kind words. I'll try and keep my blog interesting and informative and I'll be explaining how I go about my trading/betting in the near future so keep 'em peeled!

doubleback - loved that link! 98sqft for £189,950 ... think I'm going to have to get a job ... and maybe even dump the wife or put her on eBay to raise a few quid!

if you trade IR, how do you solve the problem of liquidity?
prerace is not a problem, but every time i try in-play there's not enough money around to match a decent stake (unless you're always operating on the favourites)

the target of 200.000 is great, better not make more than 250.000 or you'll get to pay the ultra-premium-megacharge up to 60%

flok - very good point! The current lack of IR liquidity is probably one of the biggest stumbling blocks that I'm going to have to face ... especially as I'm in the place market! The secret will be to play relatively patient and very aggressive when the time is right, much like a good poker player. There are occasional opportunities that arise where I have the opportunity to oppose a selection where someone has a differing view and puts up a relative lump to back. I'll be jumping on these. It's a case of trusting your judgement and not letting the fact that someone has opposed your view and wants to lump on put you off.

As for the ultra-premium-megacharge .... well yeah I'm going to have to think about that. The ideal way of winning these days is to make £1000 by winning £10000 and losing £9000, i.e have a huge turnover. I don't play like this at the moment but I'm certainly going to have to gradually move towards this style of playing. If you play the cautious and solid approach then you just get caned by BF every month.

                            Cheers - Dave.

In UK/IRE there are about 10.000 races every year.
As you expect you'll have an average return of about +10% on the amount of matched bets (matched 9000 won 10000).
To win 200k you have to match bets for 200 every race.
