  • Is there a hedging calculator like the ladder???

I'm really struggling with hedging here, a couple of examples will explain what I am on about.

The best one I have found is on the impressive Gubbed Me site:

Unfortunately when I use it on the lay first back second one on the right it is displaying the profit as a loss for some reason. Perhaps it is my excel version (2007) or something. Otherwise I find it very nice to use so well done to whoever wrote it.

What I was wondering is this - is there a hedging calculator out there that has an interface like the ladder?

Like here if I am backing Tottenham say it would be nice to see a range of figures as can be seen on the ladder:

Similarly with the potential loss on this trade, it would be good to see the range instead of having to pump a number of different figures into the calculator.

Is there anything like this out there? I do use the ladder in training mode but AFAIK you can only use it for the market price and can't have different input points.

I wrote one ages ago in a ladder format so I could see potential profits/losses. Easy enough to add extras if you need to, it's protected but no password just to stop formula cells being accidentally written over

MediaFire is a simple to use free service that lets you put all your photos, documents, music, and video in a single place so you can access them anywhere and share them everywhere.

I fixed the original, it just needed ...

        Code:
        =IF(OR(E3="",E4="",E5=""),"",IF(E3>E5,0.95*(E10-E4),E10-E4))
        changing to ...

        Code:
        =IF(OR(E3="",E4="",E5=""),"",IF(E3>E5,0.95*(E4-E10),E4-E10))
        Download

I haven't checked anything else on it, though!

          Thanks so much guys!

Really looking forward to doing some proper in-play trading now I have got a ladder to play with. Must admit I have found it very difficult to quantify what odds I am really getting in the past because of working out the liability if event x happens, particularly with time erosion too.

Bloody difficult this trading business, which is why I have preferred the limited liability and straightforward exit point of the straight up bet. I've only used AGT for pre event trading and simple hedging, never done an in-play trade with a defined entrance and exit point apart from scalping attempts. Think this will really help open things up for me now.

Thanks for the compliment! I made the site out of hobby long time ago, and I almost abandoned it afterwards, along with the trading; glad to see people still visit it.

A lot of good content on there Wednesday 13. The domain name itself must be worth a few £Mill, think someone got £20M for gambling.com once . It's a great name anyway .

Well done on all the good work and hopefully you still have interest in trading.

                Hedging Calculator

                Try www.eskei.com/betting.

You can download this as a stand alone programme or as a spreadsheet. I find the stand alone programme the best as it is small and handy when you need to perform a calculation.

:WTF Hehe, I hope you're joking, and not being serious? Otherwise, I would not advise you to try to earn money from "domaining" - buying and selling domains.

Yes, those highly generic Top Level Domains are indeed expensive, likes of gambling.com, travelling.com, hosting.com, etc.; but domains market has been so saturated that any other domain name, and especially country specific TLDs, are pretty cheap.

Of course, it depends on many factors, such as domain age, page rank and existing backlinks, one sells the entire site or only domain name, availability of other TLDs (for example, gubbed.com has been taken, but all others (gubbed.net, gubbed.org, ...) are free to register for about 10 EUR), one wants to sell it quickly or to keep waiting for ages to get the price he requested, etc., but generally, it's only .com domains that can reach enviable price, while all other TLDs are significantly cheaper.

Thus, if I were to sell it, I believe gubbed.me could hardly reach three-digit price, let alone your veryyyyyyyyy optimistic estimation of few Mil...

                      Sorry for off-topic.
