  • Haye v Chisora

Bring out the freaks and take away the fence. At a football ground in east London, a salesman with a granite chin will be sweating on David Haye and Dereck Chisora delivering a pantomime that somehow justifies all the commotion that went into making it happen. If Frank Warren does a good job of filling Upton Park – 30,000 tickets had been sold as of Friday night for a ground capable of holding 40,000 - then the promoter who has done so much for British boxing will have all the vindication he believes is necessary for a fight with serious ramifications for the sport in this country. ‘People want to see this fight,’ has been his mantra from the start. He said it again this week, in between claims from Haye that he will be ‘judge, jury and executioner’ of a man he says has not been sufficiently punished in the law courts for ‘beating up his ex girlfriend and other transgressions’.

It's gonna be handbags at dawn, the bitch slap sesh of the century, and a bigger tear jerker than Watership Down ... it's one not to be missed ...

... although I think they will end up kissing and hugging at the end ...

What time does the bout start?

The fight night will take place at West Ham United's ̶f̶a̶m̶o̶u̶s̶ sh*t-hole Boleyn Ground at Upton Park on Saturday July 14, 2012. The bout is part of a larger card of fights, so the exact start time will depend on how long the preceding bouts last. Coverage will kick off at 19:00 UK time ... this link always seems to hold up for the big bouts ... Linky

Subscribed to the online Boxnation service for this, can't risk those buff....er...ing freebie sites.

Haye weighed in at 15st, Chisora over 17 1/2 - much of which is flab.

Despite all the bad press it should be an interesting fight. Chisora gets his gloves up and walks forwards, Haye is the better boxer and will aim to pop his jab and offload the big right hand.

10 rounds, not 12 also adds to the mix.

I have taken 5/4 about Haye winning by KO, TKO or DQ.

I have also covered rounds 6 and 7 for both boxers, it should be ding-dong from the first bell so I do not see it making it to the end of round 10. Dropped hands and big punchers equals KO opportunities.

Fraudley wants to fight the winner, what a joker!

Tyson Fury meanwhile is on the radar for one of the Klitschko brothers. Haye v Fury would be a crackerjack depending on how tonight goes.

Then there is Khan in the early hours.

    Lets get ready to rumble

(Rumour has it a West Ham v Millwall meet is on the cards tonight as well..... )

One was a boxer, the other a fighter.

No doubting Haye is a puncher too, despite his 15st frame.

Worth £20 of anyone's money for that, short and sweet but action-packed unlike Fraudley's effort against the Hayemaker (Apparently he wants the winner??!)

Khan at 3am, equal 'Beef' before that fight - so let's get ready to rumble (Again)

Was the Munich thing all staged?

Will the Kilitschkos take the bait?

Did your mate buy his car from Del Boy Chisora?

Some great one-liners at the press conference - Vitali's next opponent turned up and Haye comes out with "Hold onto your tripods"

As for Amir Khan, he is a cert for the next Strictly Come Dancing series judging by some of the moves he was busting in the early hours

Amir's footwork was certainly Michael Flatley-esque, there was definitely somefink resembling an Irish Jig going on ...

I don't know how well that will go down on Strictly ...
