  • Liquidity: Fair v Daq

It does seem to have totally switched looking at the Racing markets tonight.

The Daq has around triple the amounts matched of BF at around the 20 minutes to go mark.

When's the toy going to be ready for the Daq?

At the off they have half BF's amount. Still reasonable to use though. Anyone paying the PC would be better taking the risk of getting a few percent less in profit but paying much less in commission

It's definitely viable for racing traders now. What a brilliant option at just 2.5% commission. I just need the football markets to follow and I'll be like a pig in muck.

It seems that Betdaq’s liquidity has grown quite a bit and the other place’s has dropped (and dropped quite a large amount from what they used to have matched there?) Hopefully it will continue and people will get used to paying just 2.5%. There are a few market makers on some tennis matches, so there can be decent liquidity there, but matched amounts are low.

If you’re a pre-race trader, there’s starting to be enough money on Betdaq to make the switch, but in running is poor - maybe building slowly.

It would be great if they could improve their API slightly.

            I am on 1.25%.

            This might be of interest:

(although it says affiliates it isn't some spam link)

I can confirm that all users operating with trading software will be subject to the scalable commission charging from around 10th August 2011. Users wont be able to switch around but the vast majority of feedback is fully supportive of the fact that we address customer behaviour in (Making offers/Taking offers) rather than punishing customers who just happen to win!

              Common sense

              Makes perfect sense.
If you provide liquidity i.e offer up a price you get low commission
If you take a price you pay normal commission.

              I am not missing Betfair

This is actually extremely positive as it shows that they genuinely want to encourage other market makers (traders) on the site apart from their own bots, so they're not treating us as competition or a nuisance

I have been using betdaq this week.i usually trade IR which isnt up to scratch yet, espacially the placce markets on Horse racing. They need to get the irish racing in play on place markets.

I spoke to theyre customer servicce the other day and supposedly they are looking at doing this. They sounded rather busy though!

I have managed some okay wins over at Betdaq at all the meetings and only paying 1.5% commission (available to all) v BF's PC!

Does seem that Betfair is quieter and Betdaq busier.

Come on Geek what about a basic version of TT for Betdaq?

All it would need to begin with would be a grid and ladder. No need for charts etc.

Surely you can knock that up without to much effort? :Thumbs

this is exactly the reason why i didn't join betdaq yet: no Toy!
if there was a Toy version for betdaq i'd surely move some funds there and give it a try.
who knows, in the future could be the main exchange, better be prepared!

Please, please, please, please, please, please, please make the toy for daq The Geek! You would single handedly go down in history as the man that delivered the forsaken sons of Betfair to the promised land of Betdaq, thus transforming the sports trading landscape for ever!
