No thread for this super fight yet?!
The tale of the tape;
The question marks;
1) Does Haye have the chin?
2) Is age catching up with Klitschko?
3) Will the (biased) judges be called into action?
The Sturm v Macklin fight last week told you everything about fighting in someone else's 'back yard'. Sky pundit Jim Watt had Macklin 3 up with as many rounds left to go - when the cards were returned at the end of the fight one judge had it 115-113 Macklin, the others went 116-112 Sturm. Outrageous!
One point to note from watching that fight is that Sturm was trading at around 1.7 for the majority (Started at around 1.35) - until Watt put his scorecard up after the 9th round. The 1.7 about Sturm quickly turned into 2.5, as layers chose to take Watt's verdict for a substitute of the 'real thing'. A costly mistake!
Current BF odds;
1.56 Klitschko
2.92 Haye
50 Draw
Too many contests are ruined by the judges, referees, cuts, premature stoppages, etc. Tonight there is a bit of a personal edge and they should at least hit the ground running - unlike A Farce when he got his chance with Haye!
There are plenty of doubts on both sides for me - Kiltschko has a record of beating 'bums' and Haye is totally unproven in the Heavyweight division. He took the title from the freak of nature that is Nikolay Valuev and then beat John Ruiz (who had seen better days) in his first defence. The less said about the Audley Harrison fight, the better.
The Ukrainian boasts an 84.4% knockout percentage - Haye's is 88.4% but as a heavyweight he's 2 from 3, 66.6%.
Providing Haye's chin stands up to 'Dr Steelhammer' early doors he should get the opportunity to offload some hard, fast shots. Cuts could easily enter the equation as the rounds tick by - so for an interest in what could be a short-lived contest, I have taken Sky Bet's offer of naming the round in which the fight ends;
Round 9 - 11/1
Round 10 - 12/1
Round 11 - 12/1
Let him have it, Hayemaker
