Betfair - bet orders routing on Australian events?

Does someone know if bets are routed to Betfair Malta for non-UK customers when they bet on australian markets like Australian Open?

For example when a geman bettor bets on european games, bets run like this:
Germany (Home)-> UK (Betfair) -> Malta (Betfair International) -> UK (Betfair) -> UK exchange

What does happen when he bets on Australia Open games?
Germany (Home)-> Australia (Betfair) -> Malta (Betfair International) -> Australia (Betfair) -> Australian exhcge
OR
Germany (Home) -> Australia (Betfair) -> Australian exchange

This is incorrect. Someone asked something similar earlier over on the Bet Devil forum and I even had to correct Peter Webb on his understanding of it - not many times I know more about trading on Betfair than him lol.

I think you may be at a disadvantage. I get 0.2 seconds refresh on uk horses but i get 0.4/0.5 seconds when trading aus horses

It is done on where you are registered not your ip so they would go:

UK registered customers go:

Home (Depends on your connection) > Betfair London > Home (Depends on your connection)

Though this may have changed a bit since Betfair relocated their data centre to Ireland the other week.

If you have any questions on it since they have done this probably best to ask Betfair directly as I haven't the time to research it at the moment.

I have tried In-play in Australia and am situated in Brisbane Australia and have given up.
Australia is on a delay on radio and TV plus not enough action in the market.
A very hard thing to do!
