if anyone is suffering from insomnia here is a video of some inplay football trading from tonights Liverpool game. It is during the last 10 mins of extra time. Basically I am am trying to make a tick or so with each trade. My opening trade is always a lay therefore limiting my downside if Reading score again but a big upside if Liverpool score. The difficulty with this is that Readings price contracts the longer the game goes on but as you can see the price does jump up and down a lot.

Forgive me, noob question. Have I got this right? Are you laying lower than the current price offered, expecting that the price will drop to your lay price then jump up again to a higher price that you will now back?

Ok so I understand the ladder a bit more now and it appears that this is what you are doing? A couple of times you had a lay in for a few minutes then removed it unmatched and took a lower amount. Were these moments that Reading where in attack?

Just after the 7 minute mark the price drops from 1.12 to 1.10 were you have a lay waiting. It is taken then you appear to back at 1.10. Is this a scratch? If so what were your reasons behind it?

      Thanks

What you´re doing is laying a certain amount 5 to 10 ticks under the current lay price and hope for a sharp sudden drop and with a tick offset of 5 to 10, right?

Trying to take advantage of the fact that price goes down but not in a straight line.

          Hi

You are both right. My basic strategy is to lay a few ticks under the current price hoping to get matched then my back bet usually goes in at a higher price. Sometimes I might scratch or take a loss if I feel the price isn't going to come back to my back bet.

I will remove a bet if i no longer think it is good value. Just because a price was good value 2 mins ago does not mean it is good value later in the game.

The main feature is a small downside if the winning team score again but a big upside if the team trailing score. This will also work if the game is a draw going into the last few minutes only if either team score and you have a lay bet in the market then you will have a nice green. :Kerching

            Great Video.

            Hi Drifter,
Yep, many thanks for the video, I have tried looking for videos using The Geek, but it seems every one wants to trade either on horses, dogs, tennis, cricket, but not on FOOTBALL, you see Drifter i'm a newbie at this trading game so i have a lot of training to do, and when i see a video like yours ...well it blows my brain, because i only wished i had the same knowledge, but if you can do it, then so can i.

Have you any short cuts that i can use to get me going?.

Scalping for 1 tick against the direction of the market in the last few minutes when things pick up pace wouldn't be a strategy for the faint hearted imo.

                    Hi,

                    1. thanks for great video
                    2. but what if Reading scores again? You have no chance to back lower value as the match almost finishes. Also for me its too psychologically difficult strategy.
