  • Fieldside betting

I know some people are doing courtside betting in tennis and it works for them, but is anyone doing this for football and would this work or would we as humans be just too slow compared to the betting suspensions.

Im seriously thinking of this to get an edge of first goal score etc rather than watching on tv and perhaps betting by who has current ball possession and looks strong.

Obviously this would be a two-man job right, one in stadium and one with fast wifi and fingerclicking abilities.

If you make it 2 man job you should forget to do it for sure

Even if you were pitchside reporting the goal surely the bet placer would be caught out by the 8 second delay.
      Or am I thinking incorrectly.

I have a season ticket and have bet just as the referee is about to blow for full time, sometimes I get the bet on sometimes I don't. I have given up doing this as it detracts from the entertainment.

You have the 8 second delay and someone, somewhere in the crowd is reporting the full time whistle at the same time as you are placing the bet. It's hit and miss and not worth bothering with imo.

8 second delay... too long imo .... if you look at Betdaq's new manifesto though.... apparently there might not be delays on inplay markets? if i read that right anyway.... could be some fun if that happens, for a few weeks at least!! ha
Edges are ten-a-penny, execution is everything

Surely if i make a two man job it should be quicker and less riskier than with one person.

Ok i may sound dumb and perhaps i am dumb bit doesnt the 8 second rule come bang on at the goal score, what I'm saying is what if the person reports just when an straight right obvious goal kick has been shot i would bet on that asap where the 8sec rule hasnt even come into enforcement and neither has the initial suspension.

I pretty sure its worth it though. And why would you bet just when yhr games over?wouldnt that make your winnings next to nothing?

I always thought it was a 2 man job. It would be hard if not impossible to beat the delay if trying to bet when a goal is scored, but you could take advantage of when a defending side regains possession and can counter attack.

I get what your saying..but can anyone confirm whether the suspension and then 8 sec rule comes into affect just after crossing the goal line? Or is it upon strike? If the latter then it will defo be hard/impossible but if the first then i would have a 1-2 sec gap just perfection needed from me n person at the stadium to put that bet in right?

Sorry to bump this up again guys, but wanted a confirmation ive read some people say bet delays are cancelled immediately with click of a button, is this correct as in the only delay would be for the data to go on to betfairs server and not the 7 sec delay, thanks in advance for any replies i did appreciate the help from the above replies so cheers
