    After seeing the 'Speed' results on the Alternative To Virgin thread, I ran a test on my connection through the three browsers on my system;

    In order of results (i.e.Slowest first)

    First up, good old I.E. (Or at least I used to think it was good)

    Second best, Safari

    But the clear winner was Google Chrome

    The question is, has everyone played about with different browsers?

    There was a mixed bag of speed results in the Virgin thread but given the above results it would appear to vary greatly 'Browser to Browser'.....

    I 'found' Chrome thanks to Nicko - perhaps the one good thing to come out of that software

            I use Chrome, Firefox, and IE.

            Firefox was 1st choice, but now use Chrome for most things since too many firefox browsers autoreloading causes freezing.
            I use firefox for online video, since Chrome doesn't seem to handle that for me.
            I use IE for when I need to use POLI, as both the others don't seem to work.

            As for speed test, just compared Google and Firefox, and there was negligible difference for me, at least at this time of the day.

              Chrome No2 of UK's top browsers
              GOOGLE Chrome has become Britain's second most popular web browser — and it has set its sights on overtaking Internet Explorer.

              Recent stats from web metrics firm Statcounter show that last month Chrome captured 22 per cent of UK users, slightly more than Firefox.

              Internet Explorer was used by 45 per cent, while Apple's Safari was number four in the table with a nine per cent share.

                Internet Explorer users 'have below-average IQ'

                Users of the most popular web browser, Internet Explorer, tend to have lower-than-average IQ, according to a survey of online habits.

                  Even if IE was fastest, I wouldn't use it, has a bygone era lack of style.
