Well guys and gals it's exactly 1 year to the day that the Racing Traders server went bang & so began the biggest customer service disaster in living memory. {For those who missed the absolutely brilliant video send up of it you can download and watch it by clicking here.}
Tomorrow will mark the 1st anniversary of the rather short lived first public launch of The Toy. Little did I know then that 12 months later it would be both the most recommended product, and subsequently the number one trading product for Betfair today. { Yes I know that everyone else with more than 100 users claims to be the market leader, but the reality today is that we actually are.
}
I think it's absolutely amazing that this success has been achieved, and I couldn't have done it without the army of toy users that have continually recommended the product to others over the past year. { OK so the price helped get peoples attention, but there have been other free products over time, yet none of them have made any significant impact on the industry. }
The irony is that this has been achieved with zero BS marketing, zero advertising and not a single explanation on the website about what trading is. { We even go as far as to warn people regularly just how difficult trading is, and how much BS and carrot waving by the purveyors of poop that exists in the wider industry. }
I'd like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you that has helped out in the community to date, contributed their ideas, and helped spread the word around the various blogs & forums out there. Another thank you to those who have chipped in a few quid here & there towards the running costs.
On this momentous anniversary I'd also like to thank once again the Meerkats over the road for giving me the free publicity coup of the century.
Last but not least, the new release with some rather whizzy advanced charting is on Alpha test with a select few, and will be on public release in the not too distant once I've added a few of their suggestions. { Yes I know I said September, but have you ever known any IT project to be on time. }
