I think Betfair changed something with thier videos. Works fine from Betfair site.
Yeah, It seems GT can't show new stream that Betfair started to use for ATR tracks. And it's quite distracting to open BF site every time for these tracks. Hope it'll be fixed in next GT's version
Betfair have historically used flash for their video's
But support for flash ends this year, and betfair are moving to use HLS codecs for their video's
Betfair have told us that they would be moving away from flash for all video's.
It has already been affecting tennis for a while now
I am assuming this is the issue with the new racing streams.
Now, the software use's IE11 for it's web pages, including the live video.
The live video is just betfair's live video web page displayed in the software.
But ....
IE11 does not support the new HLS codecs.
There are issues around the use of proprietary codec's in the software that have to be resolved before anything can be done.
All these are outside of our control at the moment
So for now, you will need to use an external browser to view the new video streams
It's all greek to me.
73 years young and can't get my fat head around all of this.
Haydock Park videos are off???
Newmarket is off???
The only one working is Lingfield.
If Lingfield works, why can't the powers that be get the others to work?
I lay in-play and am not a happy bunny.
Lingfield is a Sky Sports Racing track, this as with all tracks that are shown on Sky channel Sky Sports Racing will still work within Geeks Toy as the system used by Betfair to provide the Live Video for Sky Sports Racing tracks is unchanged. However, the delay on the Live Video is now substantial compared to other TV picture providers/on course viewing so be careful using the pictures for inrunning.
All Racing TV tracks use the new system provided by Betfair, Haydock and Newmarket are such tracks and these will not work within Geeks Toy for the reasons already stated in the thread. You can access these streams using Chrome web browser direct from the betfair website. These feeds are much quicker than the Sky Sports Racing tracks and should be okay for inrunning but are still obviously behind live on course action. So still be careful.
All Live Video is now watch to bet, so you don't need to have placed a bet to view them where as in the past the streams were bet to view and so you had to in the past have placed and matched at least a £2 bet.
Pictures start about 3 - 5 minutes before the scheduled off time unless there is a delay.

Could you not switch to using Chrome and solve the issue that way?
Many reasons ...
1: not every windows computer has chrome on it.
2: every windows computer comes with IE
3: .Net has excellent support for IE built into it.
Re Chrome.
We are unable to use "chrome" as you know it as a web browser.
We can use the chrome engine, chromium inside the software.
But, it does not support proprietary codec's, so it wont play the video's either.
And windows edge is currently changing over to use the chromium engine as well.
The API's for it are still in preview, and not ready for using yet.
And as it will be using chromium, we don't know what codecs will be supported yet.
