Anyone succesfully tried this?

It is something that is on my list to do next year? If anyone is up for doing a traders road trip then that would be awesome!

I am thinking of doing something like a 3 day trip mon-wed in a different part of spain or southerm france a few times to see if I can find anywhere nice and tradeable from.

Its going to have to be main cities as internet speed is going to need to be decent. Looking at speedtest.net different countries and cities average internet speeds there are a lot of cities that appear to have good internet access and would be perfect for trading from.

I know Jack Birkhead is full time from Madrid though he has had a terrible time with getting internet (reliable) sorted following a house move!!

Also you may want to check who has DSL or ADSL or both etc. Madrid only ADSL (or rather Jack does) therefore I assume if the phone exchange goes down any other lines U have will too!!?? Bit then you prolly know more about that than me!!

I trade from near Barcelona with no problems. Response times ~150ms.

I also trade in Basel on ADSL, which is ~100ms so slightly better.

Then in the UK it is ~40ms on cable modem.

All three are fine for trading in my experience, though I guess there is possibly a slight advantage with the lower response in the UK. Your bet is going to get in the queue 100-200ms quicker which could be the difference between getting matched or not sometimes.

cheers guys. Sure its just going to be something to do because I can really! If you look at Madrid on speedtest there is a company offering 100Mb connections so the infrastructure must be pretty good there?

Amsterdam is fine too. Any speed you like really over here.

And plenty of ways to get live pictures too. Especially for the football.

The greatest challenge will probably be to get the services setup for short term stay. But you're welcome at my place every sunday for the foottie

Yes plenty of bars have free Wifi (including mine) and I think I also saw something about short term internet USB sticks with good speed. So you could use those in sports bars.

In any even I could help you out if you decide to put Amsterdam on your itinerary, should be no problem.

Sorry mate was gonna ask about the 100 meg connections etc, but can ask that any way lol

a cheap but nice hotel/hostel should be pretty easy to find and checking there Internet capability should be pretty easy especially with these backpacker review sites etc.
