One tactic that should be in the book is the classic TradeShark manouvre.

If it's 00-40 or 15-40 you back the receiver, or lay the server.

If the receiver breaks you can green up for a nice profit. If the server holds up you can get out cheaply.

After it became wide spread I believe the profit margins have gotten smaller but nevertheless still a great basic strategy to start with.

I like this idea and I think we should do this for every subforum. I've proposed having a faq at every subforum at ST forum so noobs don't have to ask the same questions all the time, or if they do they can just be told friendly to read the faq first. Also great place to keep all essential links and maybe the best strategic threads of the forum so they don't fade away into obscurity. But no one seemed to be interested then, hopefully this takes of.

      Well done jibiko!

Just to add that the 15-40 works much better on the women's tour.

For live scores Bet365 appears to be the fastest, I use it in conjunction with the ATP live scoreboard which updates the match stats such as winning serve percentage. Also try to trade matches with more than £50,000 matched.

Final thought. The season is coming to it's conclusion in November and we are already seeing some strange results and retirements due to injury, so be careful if backing players at the start of matches.

Seems like a bit of a pop at TradeShark IMO

If the matches are on bwin I find that to be the quickest scoreboard overall. I've often had them side by side and more often than not bwin updates slightly quicker.

I understand how you read it now mate but I don't think there was any malice intended towards TradeShark and he just wants to create a forum tennis knowledgebase in one easy to find spot.

I certainly didn't mention TS to knock him, I just didn't want to post that idea and take credit for it myself.

It is a good idea to have one thread where different strategies are put in one place. I certainly don't think it was intended as a pop at TradeShark who is a tennis trading legend in my book, and has helped improve my trading massively.

There are various well known strategies that can be discussed that maybe people have slightly different views on.

Backing a player from the start.
                          Waiting for the break.
                          Backing the server.

Three well known strategies but all of them have downsides of course. It would be good to hear different ways of using these strategies.

Oh, and people. You could also go onto my 'entry points' thread and post some of your scalping/swing trade ideas there. Thanks Scumbag, the only one who has joined in so far!

                            What was chapter 2?

The official scoreboard lags, although you can manually refresh it.

Bet365 can be really good sometimes, but seems to give more incorrect scores, which can be a disaster.

bwin is usually the quickest, but often doesn't have as wide a selection of matches as 365, and it can also lag sometimes.

They all have their good and bad points and I often have 2 up at the same time.
