Hi all,watched Andy Roddick get a tennis lesson today from stanislas wawrinka.Think federer will have his hands full when these two meet,reckon this lad has a chance if he play's like he did today.

Peter Lundgren, former coach for Federer but now with Wawrinka, knows everything about Roger.

I am not saying Wawrinka going to win .....it's only something to think about

I tried doing a bit of tennis trading at the weekend and the Roddick-Wawrinka game was the first one Ive ever traded

I had watched the ladies game before to get an idea of how the odds move etc

No clear fav before the start so I decided on doing the 'back the player about to score the game point' strategy to see how that went (using only £2 stakes to try the water)

I know there is a delay in the live pictures but even so I was miles behind everyone else doing the backing and by the time the 5 secs delay were up the odds has dropped as low as they were going to go and didnt drop any further even though the player went on to convert the game point.

So back to the drawing board I think! All experience I suppose. I came out with a tiny 76p profit from the game but most of that came from lumping on Wawrinka at the end at 1.01.

Well, Federer ruled in straight sets 1-6, 3-6, 3-6, Wawrinka no chance.
Let's see who He is up against in the next, Berdych or Djok....

The mens game is completely different than womens. Women, for the most part (except the obvious big servers) seem to rely more on breaking, than holding. As such, is a much better trading option, although, only because it is more volatile...

Look for the break in the womens, and the hold in the mens.
And I think, when somebody goes to 40-0 on their serve, the odds are pretty much locked into what they will be on the game win. So doesn't hurt to lay there, as there is very little down side.
Pretty similar with 0-40. Against a strong server like maybe Roddick, 0-40 is often a good time to back him, as he often powers a couple of aces in against the tide. He attacks the first few points, miscalculates, because he knows he can just throw the good serve down.

From what I have seen, there is less upside in backing somebody who looks like winning a game, as those who are down in the game. But the more likely it looks, the less the odds will move after it happens...

Not a big tennis trader but these are the things I would look at (have, but don't wish to "suggest a strategy"..)
If you are behind in time, you need a valid strategy, and an ability to read the game as you are not going to win on speed alone....

If you are new to tennis trading, then why not have a look at the site by a guy called Tradeshark. Just search for" Tradeshark Tennis" and you should find it. I found it very helpful.

Nadal overpriced, could be good value to back Murray if they meet in the other semi

Andy Murray V Novak Djokovic contest the AO Final Sunday morning UK time and looking at the head to head it is a very close mach up with Djokovic leading 4-3, Murray has won the last 3 and also both times they met in a final Murray was victorious. They both seem to have a good first serve with Djokovic getting a higher % in but Murray seems to have a slightly better second serve. Djokovic has been very impressive so far and generally getting better the longer the tournament has gone on and was simply superb against Federer. Murray was excellent against Melzer then a little bit scruffy in wins against Ferrer and Dolgopolov.
Tough one to call but in my opinion I would say Djokovic is rightly favourite with the form he has shown so far and Murray will not be able to be passive otherwise that will play into Djokovic's hands.
