Personally I found "Fly fishing" by J.R. Hartley a much more interesting read.

Any mention of JR Hartley brings a tear to my eye.

The story was just so beautiful....(sob)........I'm so glad he found his book in the end.....(sniff).

If you want a good read, I recommend the Concise Version of the Collin's English Dictionary. It's not much of a story but it has the advantage of explaining the meaning of the big words as one goes along.

I saw the first few pages. While I cannot reproduce the graphics, the text went along the lines of:

Page 1: Peter has a bet.
Page 2: The bet is big.
Page 3: Peter has a big bet.

Apparently (and this is a spoiler warning), Peter has another bet before the end of the book. Quite a riveting read.
