  • Money not showing in the market

I noticed today in the football markets that the ladder in the toy wasnt displaying all the money that was available on the Betfair webpage. It was actually displaying wrong amounts at the odds available and other odds had money on the betfair site but where blank on the toy? Do Betfair screw with the API somehow or is it a bug? It's very confusing as you think that you're putting your money near the front of the queue and then realise that theres a few thousand ahead of you. (not knocking the software, I think it's brilliant, but I just need to know what's happening so I can adjust accordingly.)

Sorry if this has been answered before but I searched the help forum and couldnt find this subject covered.

It's probably down to Betfairs bet matching algorithmn whereby they convert offers on one selection to also show as the opposite on the other selections. They get displayed on the website as offers but the data isn't currently being sent to the API

Thanks for the link Millionaire, I had a look and I must admit that although it's a bit over my head I'm not sure that it's the answer. I'm talking about large amonts of missing money on both the back and the lay side ie sometimes the Toy would be displaying a large amount of money at 2.0 and the next money at 2.6, but on the Betfair website there would be over 50 pounds at 2.2 and 2.4 . I should take some screen shots to illustrate next time. maybe I need to adjust my API settings if nobody else experiences this, but the display in TT isnt showing any errors in retrieving the data, and my broadband is a reasonable and reliable speed.

I probably didn't explain it too well so here's a screenshot to show it a little easier - it's showing the API feed in another app and the website at the same time

The screenshots shows the following bets have been created to show on the website as they are effectively the same bets

Under 1.5 goals Lay 1.01 shows as back overs @ 110 for £5 ,1.2 lay for £51 shows as back overs @ 6 for £10 , back unders at 6 for £15 shows as lay overs 1.2 for £79 (not £75 as there is actually more than £15 to back at 6)

The £22 lay @ 3 is generated from the back @ 1.5 for £44 , £4 @ 11's comes from the £43 @ 1.1 and so on , they only need to generate bets to fill the lowest 3 odds boxes and not every market has6 bet matching turned on

Thanks for taking the time to explain it Millionaire, I appreciate it. I assume it makes sense to keep the Betfair site open whilst trading to check on how much money there is floating around, as surely it has an impact on whether a scalping trade might work or not.

Doing some digging on 'another' forum which in addition to Millionaires explanation helped me to understand it a bit more.
