My challenge is to NOT turn £500 into £0
If you want more luck... Take more chances!

Mine is simply to make more each month than the last. Shouldn't be too hard this month after lasts multiple debacles lol
Tough times don't last. Tough people do.

Me too... I figured if I can make about 120Eur per day over 25 days per month then thats 3k per month which covers my living and bills. I did 130 on Sat still on 50 stakes but it was a bit of a wild ride would prefer just to plod along with small medium stakes and not being greedy.

I sold shares in my company to give me about 10 months living money so its a real challenge for me to be able to try to reach this goal by about June/July so that i still have buffer for when times are not so good

I don't get the point of a challenge like that. What exactly does it prove? Obviously if you have the capability, and lets forget the 0 portion, and say 50 - 100,000 in 12 months. If you can make 100,000 in 12 months in the first place, you are doing something right. I can't imagine you can make that sort of money and only have 50 in your BF account.
If you are that good, why not start out at max, and go for 50,000 - 1,000,000 challenge. I would rather make 950k in 12 months, than 99,500, just to prove that I could do it from 0.
I don't know you, I don't know him, or that guy over there, so I have 0 to prove to any random forum name.

Now if I was selling something, then perhaps it would be worth it. But lets be honest, I am not a people person, so sales is the last area you are likely to see me.

i bought one last summer for the same reasons, 17" screen, 3gb ram, 250 hardrive 2.2Mhz processor under £330 from Tesco, just make sure you use a proper mouse what ever you get, dont try and trade using the touch pad that laptops have.

They are all good these days. My little notebook is fantastic and only cost me about £ 275.I buy most of my up-market stuff from Comet and always get bargains. Dell computers are cheap and very good but if any technical support is needed you have to speak to somebody in India. If a printer doesn't work with the Dell computer, they ask you if the printer is a Dell one. When you say "no", they effectively tell you to sod off. Their support to me was hopeless but the machine was excellent.
I have two other laptops, and Acer and a Sony Vaio. Both are very good, the Vaio being the more powerful. Having two others means the house has plenty of back up and my little notebook sits with me almost all day.

Spookily similar to my situation Scotty. Would love to become relatively profitable over time. I'm finding the plodding bit successful by just scalping but it's bloody hard to keep disciplined.

Also looking for a new netbook/laptop. I hear getting one with Windows 7 will mean much faster startup and more importantly better broadband management. Can anyone confirm?
